A second bestseller

You'll have to excuse me, but this sort of thing doesn't happen that often, and I do get a little excited.

My second Welsh-language novel, 'Coed y Brenin' has just reached number one in Amazon Uk's Welsh-language ebook charts. Woohoo!

How I wasted a month of my life on an ancient epic...

Ah, progress. It can sometimes creep up on you. Which is what happened to me earlier this year.

Maybe I got a bit carried away with app development, maybe I got a little overexcited.

'Wouldn't it be great' I thought, 'to publish my audio book Mabinogion, the Four Branches as an app?' Yes, of course it would, and a month later I had such an app, complete with artwork by legendary US artist Howard David Johnson. It was big. 5 audio CDs worth of music, plus generous album artwork. Still, it looked and sounded great.

Then I looked at Bandcamp, the company who handle the downloads of the original audiobook. Lo and behold, they now have an app - an app to let anyone stream music from their site (including my splendid audiobook) direct to their phone or tablet. Not only that, but direct to their Sonos system too. Streaming, so no long downloads, and the utter convenience of instant delivery. Take a listen here:

Goodbye, Cadw Swn

learn Welsh fast with Cadw SwnToday was a milestone. I said goodbye to my Welsh course Cadw Swn. No more packing boxes, duplicating CDs and getting books printed.

Well not quite goodbye. I still have another few CDs to record. But after that I'm handing over the order fulfillment to others. Robots probably.

'Learn Welsh Fast with Cadw Swn' is the slightly rejigged title, of a slightly rejigged course. Older, wiser and a little greener.

The book is out now, the first 3 audio download packs too. The new CDs should start appearing next week, together with a fabulous new website. Audio downloads are a mere £5.95 for a CD's worth, the book a steal at £14.95.

books-llyfrau

If there's one thing that my audio collection Mabinogion, The Four Branches has taught me it's that a large market exists outside of Wales for all things Welsh and Welsh (Welsh language and about Wales - Cymraeg and Cymreig).
So, less than a week after trawling amazon for books on Wales, books in Welsh, and books for Welsh learners, I've set up darllen.co.uk - books about Wales and for Welsh learners in the 'UK' and darllen.com - books about Wales and for Welsh learners in the US. Nice typeface too.

only now can it be told...

mabinogionWhere did the summer go? I'll tell you where it went. On my new audio collection Mabinogion, The Four Branches that's where. Don't take my word for it of course, but this Welsh Epic is a jewel in the crown of Celtic storytelling.
Oh yes. Presentation art inserts, bonus introduction CD, it's got them all.
So, to listen to a few tracks online, head to the website now in your best pointy hat and shawl. Now I need a rest.

goblins!

Ah yes Goblins, stroppy relations of the Fairy Folk. I always admire that in a nearly-forgotten species.
However there's nothing stroppy at www.coblynes.co.uk, only a heady mix of art and craft, conscious living and creativity.
And I nearly forgot - coblynes is a female goblin. Well obviously.
